Thank you to Squire Patton Boggs for the invitation to meet with two key congressional leaders on trade.

Several of our members were able to attend. See photo below.

We met with U.S. House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Brady (Texas), with Rep. David Schweiker (AZ).

The good news was that both men were very positive about a renegotiated NAFTA passing in 2018. Both men also were positive about TPP although they could not commit to whether the US will join this year.

Chairman Brady was also positive about a trade deal being done this year between the U.S. and South Korea.

Below... Chairman Brady talking with Joel Barthelemy of GlobalMed and Dr. Jeff Trent of Tgen. ALSO below... Doug Bruhnke (Global Chamber), Joel Barthelemy (GlobalMed), Jim Ratcliff (Rowpar Pharmaceuticals) and Dr. Trent (Tgen).

Sorry ladies, lots of men here. Come out and join us next time!

ALSO attend our "NAFTA Update for Your Business" on May 15th, learn more HERE.

"The Global Chamber is a growing network of cities tethering the Greater Phoenix region to places like Mexico City, Johannesburg, Madrid and Tokyo.

Global Chamber acts as a connector for businesses across the globe that are looking to expand beyond their homeland borders. In this global world and economy, the Global Chamber has been very busy.

Doug Bruhnke founded Global Chamber three years ago with the goal of connecting 525 metro areas together to help community business leaders find success in global marketplaces. In just three years, Global Chamber has grown into more than 200 cities."

Thank you Dave Binsfeld and your Luxembourg connections that helped arrange the visit by the global tribe to Tgen this week. One of the primary researchers Patrick Pirrotte is from Luxembourg, and he was one of the speakers - and we visited his laboratory, too.

Also thank you to Michael Bassoff, President of the Tgen Foundation. Michael was 'employee 1' at Tgen, and we so appreciate his leadership nad openness to share the progress by Tgen in the areas of cancer treatment, neurological disorders and more.

Tgen is a somewhat hidden global gem in downtown Phoenix and within Phoenix metro. The Translational Genomics Research Institute is a non-profit genomics research institute established in 2002 by Jeffrey Trent, the founding Scientific Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute, in Phoenix.

Global Chamber® collaborates with many organizations that help companies be more successful, locally and across metros and border.

We’ve recently entered into another collaborative relationship with the Phoenicians. The Phoenicians are a 75+ year old organization that used to be a committee of the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, but now they are an independent entity.

The Phoenicians has a long history of outreach to businesses, institutions and government.  They do this via luncheons with interesting speakers and by arranging field trips to go out and visits these entities in person.  Their purpose is to educate and to connect others with resources.

Global Chamber® members are now eligible to participate in Phoenician luncheons and trips.

Watch our newsletter and calendar for their events - approximately monthly.

Thank you Dave Binsfeld, Salli Marinov and Bert Braden for your friendship and collaboration.

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey issued a Proclamation proclaiming "March 2018 as 'Women's History Month' and March 8, 2018 as 'International Women's Day' " to recognize the contributions and achievements of women to our state, nation and society.
